Founded in 1969, the Arctic Winter Games is one of the biggest circumpolar competition for northern athletes. Participating nations such as Alaska, Greenland, Northern Canada and even Russia compete for prestigious Ulus with competitions ranging from the traditional Inuit Games, to hockey, to wrestling and even gymnastics! The games not only value the competition but they offer an opportunity to build partnerships between participating nations. They also promote the benefits of a healthy, athletics lifestyle and showcase the culture and values of each party involved.
